While going back and fixing the images for the new blog, I noticed the old Parallels entry that gave the pros and cons of running Windows under OSX in a virtualized session, and it occurred to me I should give a bit of an update. A very short and sweet update: use VMWare fusion, not Parallels. I’ve been running it for at least a year and a half now, and it’s worlds better than Parallels. I’ve run virtualized sessions of various versions of Windows and linux under OSX, and I’ve used the free VMWare Player to run linux under Windows Server, and it’s been excellent. Much quicker than Parallels, far fewer problems, just better all around. Save yourself some time and stick with VMWare; that’s my quick note on the subject.
