A Red ‘River’ Made Of Ceramic Poppies Flows Around The Tower Of London

Tower of London with Poppies

Ceramic artist Paul Cummins and stage designer Tom Piper have joined forces to create the amazing installation above that commemorates the centennial of Britain’s involvement in the First World War. There’s a poppy for each British or British Colonial soldier KIA during the war. This evolving installation entitled “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red” will grow through the end of the summer until 888,246 poppies fill the dry moat that encircles the Tower of London.
